experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join one of our inclusive and supportive partner schools in
Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated practitioner who is passionate about supporting pupils with
Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them reach their full potential.
The Role: As an
SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with a range of SEND, including autism (ASC), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and communication or learning difficulties.
- Support class teachers in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.
- Promote independence, confidence, and positive behaviour among pupils.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
- Create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports every child to thrive.
About You: We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in mainstream or specialist settings).
- Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting behaviour and learning.
- Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively with staff, pupils, and parents.
- Is reliable, adaptable, and committed to inclusive education.
- Holds a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) – however, strong experience will also be considered.
