Enthusiastic and experienced Science Teacher required for a busy Alternate Provision school in Birmingham. Are you a Science Teacher with a familiarity of working with students with EHCPs? Do you feel passionate about ensuring all children receive the chance to have a good quality education and be supported with their SEMH needs? This Science Teacher role will provide you with the opportunity to work with SEND KS3 and KS4 students as part of an already successful Science department. You will receive great support from the department and an outstanding team of teaching assistants and auxiliary staff to deliver high quality education. As a Science teacher in this position, you will be teaching triple science across all year groups up to GCSE level. Most of your time will be spent teaching your subject speciality but there may be occasions where you have to teach other subjects. Because many of the pupils have medical diagnoses including ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder, it is important that you communicate with students in the appropriate and understanding way. As a Science Teacher, is vital that you tailor lessons to suit students’ level of ability as although academic success is important to the school, it is also important that the Special Educational Needs of the students are considered. You will also be either demonstrating or delivering practical lessons that are in line with H&S regulations. It is essential that you are a QTS or QTLS Science Teacher and is suitable for NQTs and ECTs.
