An Alternative Provision school in Birmingham is looking for a Teaching Assistant to work with one of their KS4 students on the SEND register who also has SEMH needs. Have you worked in education before as a Teaching Assistant and are looking for your next challenge? Do you want to work alongside experienced SEND trained staff to enrich and educate students who have struggled to engage with mainstream education? This school is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide support for a Year 11 SEN student both on a 1-2-1 basis and in a group setting in the classroom. You will be working alongside an experienced team of teachers, Teaching Assistants, and support staff to provide the greatest possible quality of education and care to the students at this school.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will be primarily spending time building a good rapport with the student and providing pastoral and academic support for them throughout the day. This can occasionally include doing interventions with the pupil, particularly if they are struggling to be in the classroom due to their SEMH needs. Because the behaviour within the school can be challenging at times, it is vital that you have experience working with SEND children. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is preferred but not essential for the role. It is more important that you have some experience as a Teaching Assistant and are patient, compassionate and want to make a difference!

- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of different SEMH needs
- Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant

In return you will enjoy:
