An SEN school located in Birmingham is looking for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with children that have complex learning needs such as ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder. This specialist school is looking to recruit for a Teaching Assistant to work within small classes of children that require additional support. As a Teaching Assistant you will be working on a 1:1 basis with children from KS3 and KS4, providing academic and social support for pupils with a variety of additional needs. The school is proactive in ensuring that all barriers to education are broken down and want to help their pupils engage with classes as much as possible.
A kind, caring and empathetic approach is essential for this Teaching Assistant role. The school are looking for a Teaching Assistant who wants to provide children with a high quality of care and creates a nurturing environment for them to learn in. This role requires experience supporting young people with additional needs, experience working with Autism or Complex Learning needs is desirable. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is preferable but not essential.
- Providing support on a 1:1 basis as a specialist Teaching Assistant
- Supporting KS3 and KS4 children with complex learning needs
- Breaking down barriers to communication and making sure students get the support they need!
- Working alongside the pastoral team and SENCO to provide a good quality environment
- Delivering small group intervention sessions and sensory sessions
- Working with a dedicated Teaching Assistant team
