Do you have experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an Alternate Provision setting? A small Alternate Provision school in Birmingham is looking for a Teaching Assistant to help provide support for a male KS4 SEN student who requires 1-2-1 support throughout the day. The ideal candidate will have been a Teaching Assistant that has worked with children on the SEND register before and is able to communicate and build relationships with these students.
The school is looking for a candidate who is patient, able to differentiate work and always puts the needs of the student first. There may be occasions where the candidate is expected to work with groups of students as a Teaching Assistant alongside the teacher. Because the team is quite small, there will occasionally be times where the candidate is expected to carry out duties that are generally considered to be outside the role of Teaching Assistant. Sometimes this may involve taking the students off-site, and the Teaching Assistant is expected to accompany the students in this case.
