A Science Teacher role is available at a busy East Birmingham SEN Secondary School. Do you love teaching Science to KS3 and KS4 students with additional needs? Are you passionate about being a Science Teacher in a fast-paced environment where you can make a difference?  This busy secondary school are looking for an enthusiastic and motivating Science Teacher to join an forward thinking team of Science Teachers. This school has exemplary laboratory facilities, and a Science Technician to to support you in delivering practical experiments and provide in-class support when available. You will also receive outstanding support from a team of teaching assistants who will work with SEN students in the classroom with you. If you are a driven Science Teacher who wants to be part of a proactive team with good subject knowledge and a love for teaching, look no further.

As a Science Teacher you will be teaching across Key Stages 3 & 4 up to GCSE level, with full planning and marking responsibilities. You will mainly teach in your subject specialty but will also be work in physics, chemistry or biology where required. There may also be occasions where you need to provide cover for other teachers in different subjects, but you will receive excellent support from auxiliary staff when this occurs. Behaviour is mixed and often presents challenges, so you must be a Science Teacher with excellent communication skills that can supervise a classroom effectively. The department wants to increase engagement with Science. You will have access to excellent facilities and a range of shared resources that have been developed by the existing Science Teachers, allowing you to hit the ground running when you start. This role requires a Qualified Science Teacher with good subject knowledge and classroom management skills. It is suitable for NQTs and ECTs, however experience working with SEN and/or students with SEMH needs is desirable.

  • Teaching across the Biology, Chemistry and Physics curriculums up to GCSE
