A Science Teacher role is available at a fantastic SEN school in the South Birmingham area. Are you a Science Teacher with experience working in SEN that is looking for a new, rewarding challenging? As a Science Teacher at this school, you will be responsible for educating students from year 5 up to GCSE level in physics, chemistry, and biology. Your main focus will be on your subject specialty, although you may be required to teach triple science in some cases. The school is looking for a compassionate, caring individual to join their team of Science Teachers who has the interests of the children at heart. Because the intake of the school is only made up of students with EHCPs, it prides itself on providing incredible well-being support and has created a warm culture where the pupils can thrive.
As a Science Teacher, you will be planning and delivering triple science lessons alongside a team of excellent Science Teachers. One of the department’s targets is to raise attainment in Science across the school, which you will be directly involved in. Because of the additional SEMH needs of the students, you will need a patient, understanding personality to be able to give them the pastoral support they need. As a result, experience in working with children on the SEND register who may have diagnoses such as ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder is important. This role is suitable for NQTs or ECTs and the candidate must be a QTS or QTLS Science Teacher.
- Teaching Triple Science in line with a pre-existing scheme of work
- Improving attainment in Science across the school

- Demonstrating a good understanding of SEN to provide effective support
