A large Alternative Provision school is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Art Teacher to join their team of staff that support students in year groups 9 - 11. Do you have experience as an Art Teacher working with children who have SEMH needs? Are you committed to helping students who have struggled with mainstream education and need some support to help them succeed? If so, look no further than this Art Teacher position. You will be working with students with a range of additional needs, so it is important that you have excellent communication skills and experience with dealing with challenging behaviour in the classroom. The school has received high amounts of praise for the work it does providing interventions for students to help change the outcomes of their education.
As an Art Teacher, you will be planning and delivering lessons designed to engage students with the curriculum in fun, creative ways. Lessons have to be varied and dynamic in order to keep pupils stimulated and need to be considered so that they meet the students’ level of ability. As an Art Teacher you will have support from a superb team of teaching assistants and access to the school’s wide range of resources and facilities. You will be working with varying class sizes with pupils aged 13 to 16. As an Art Teacher you will be planning lessons in line with the provided scheme of work and delivering them up to GCSE level. Because the school is an Alternate Provision it is vital that you have experience working with students on the SEND register and providing suitable lessons. For this role it is essential that you are a QTS or QTLS Art Teacher and it is suitable for NQTs and ECTs.
