An SEN school in South Birmingham is looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their outstanding team of support staff? Do you feel passionate about ensuring all children receive the chance to have a good quality education and be supported with their SEMH needs? Do you have experience working with Special Educational Needs such as ADHD, ASC, PTSD, PDA, ODD and Attachment Disorder? This school is looking for an enthusiastic and engaging Teaching Assistant to help provide 1-2-1 support for one of their KS4 students with SEND. It is important that you are able to build a strong, positive relationship with the student in order to provide them with the most effective academic and pastoral support. You will have access to the school’s excellent facilities and resources and a large team of Teaching Assistants.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will also be conducting interventions with KS3 & KS4 students on the SEND register to assess speech and language, literacy and numeracy intervention. The Teaching Assistant role entails you working with your KS4 student on a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups, whilst working with a SEND teacher. Due to the nature of the school, the students often present challenging behaviour, so you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and an understanding of SEMH needs to effectively work in this setting. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is preferred but not essential, although it experience in working in SEN is necessary.
- Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
