Teaching Assistant, Alternate Provision, Birmingham.
Are you a Teaching Assistant that has experience working in SEN with students on a 1-2-1 basis? This small but busy school are looking for a Teaching Assistant to help support staff in classrooms with a male KS4 student with Social and Emotional Needs. The ideal candidate will have been a Teaching Assistant in this environment before and will have a passion for working with students from a variety of backgrounds.
Being an Alternate Provision school, students’ behaviour can be challenging at times. Teaching Assistants are expected to support the staff in working with students to arrive at resolutions in a trauma informed manner. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant with great interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students. Due to the small size of the school, there will occasionally be times where the candidate is expected to carry out duties that are generally considered to be outside the role of Teaching Assistant. The team has recently won an ‘Outstanding Support for Students’ Award so it is a great opportunity to join the group!
