The Education Network are currently seeking enthusiastic and capable SEN Teaching Assistants who are keen to undertake ad hoc and/or long-term work supporting children with a variety of Special Educational Needs. We work in partnership with a variety of lovely SEN schools across the North East who regularly request our supply support staff, making this an excellent opportunity to get your foot in the door of some fantastic schools and enrich your CV.
We are able to offer you SEN Teaching Assistant work to suit your schedule (whether that be full-time or part-time) and we will take into account your personal skill set (e.g. autism, behaviour support, SEMH, sign language etc.)in order to match you to the perfect role for you. You never know what a school is going to need and for how long, so we are confident that we can find something to suit you!
Because the world of SEN Schools is so wide and varied, there are very few set criteria that you must meet in order to be able to work for us. Instead, we register candidates based on their skills, experience and personalities and expertly match these to what our different schools are looking for.
In order to work with us, you will have:
* Recent experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK mainstream or SEN school OR experience in a similar setting which will give you relevant transferrable skills (e.g. social care, nursing, sports coaching etc.)
* The ability to remain professional at all times to build strong professional rapports with children and staff
* Be able to effectively assist children on a 1:1, small group or whole class basis in line with what the school have asked for
* Have a full understanding of safeguarding procedures and the responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant
*Possess an up to date enhanced DBS check or be willing to undertake one
