The Role
An Ofsted-rated Good secondary school in Walsall is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to join its successful Computing department from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term supply basis.
The successful candidate will teach Computer Science and ICT across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that develop students' knowledge of programming, computational thinking, cyber security, databases, networks, digital literacy, and emerging technologies. You will inspire students to build practical computing skills while preparing them for success in GCSE Computer Science.
Working within a supportive department, you will be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality lessons, assessing student progress, providing constructive feedback, and creating an inclusive learning environment where students are encouraged to develop confidence and curiosity in technology. You will maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement while promoting digital skills that prepare students for further education and future careers.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS or be an ECT
- Have experience teaching Computer Science and ICT across KS3 and KS4
- Be confident delivering the GCSE Computer Science curriculum
- Have knowledge of programming languages and current computing technologies
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Be committed to supporting student progress and raising attainment
- Have a passion for computing and inspiring the next generation of digital innovators
