The Role
A secondary school and post-16 setting is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health & Social Care / Child Care Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a full-time, long-term basis.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across BTEC Level 1–3 Health & Social Care and Child Care programmes, supporting students in developing the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills required for further education and careers within the health, social care, and early years sectors.
You will be responsible for planning and delivering lessons, assessing coursework and assignments, monitoring student progress, and preparing learners for both internal and external assessments. The role requires a teacher who can bring vocational learning to life through real-world examples and industry-relevant content, ensuring students remain motivated and engaged throughout their studies.
Working within a supportive department, you will contribute to maintaining high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement while helping students develop the professional skills required for future employment and training opportunities.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
- Hold QTS or QTLS
- Have experience teaching Health & Social Care and/or Child Care qualifications
- Be confident delivering BTEC Level 1–3 programmes
- Have experience assessing coursework and vocational assignments
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
- Be committed to supporting student achievement and progression
- Have a passion for vocational education and preparing students for future careers
