The Role
A secondary school in Birmingham is seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Religious Studies Teacher to join their Humanities department from April 2026 on a full-time, long-term supply basis.
The successful candidate will teach History across Key Stages 3 and 4, alongside Philosophy and Ethics at Key Stage 5, delivering well-structured lessons that encourage critical thinking, debate, and analytical writing. The role will involve planning and delivering lessons, assessing student progress, and supporting pupils preparing for GCSE and A-Level examinations.
The school is looking for a teacher who can bring enthusiasm to Humanities subjects while maintaining high expectations for learning and behaviour in the classroom.
 
The Candidate
The successful candidate will:
  • Hold QTS (or be an ECT)
  • Have experience teaching History at KS3 and KS4
  • Be confident delivering Philosophy, Ethics, or Religious Studies at KS5
  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and subject knowledge
  • Be organised, proactive, and committed to supporting pupil achievement
