SEN Teaching Assistant

The Education Network is working in partnership with a school in Cramlington seeking an experienced teaching assistant to work across key stage one and two, supporting students with additional barriers to education.

Working across multiple classrooms and year groups the successful candidate will support students on their learning journey. You will be working either on a one to one basis or with small groups taking your direction from the class teacher. The successful persons may also be required to support students at meal times and moving between classrooms.
The school are seeking only experienced candidates for this role.
Minimum requirements to apply for this role:

  • Level 3 Supporting teaching and learning.
  • 6 months experience working with students with additional barriers to learning.
  • Enhanced DBs registered with update service (or be willing to apply for one)
Additional qualifications or experience are advantageous but not essential.
Desirable qualifications and experience:
  • Moving and handling.
  • Team teach (or other positive handling training)
  • Peg feeding.
  • Epi pen training.
  • Autism awareness.
Candidates are required Monday – Friday from 08:30 till 16:00 however candidates looking for more flexible hours may be considered for bank staff work.
