As an ICT ECT, you will have the exciting opportunity to inspire and educate students across Key Stages 3 and 4, equipping them with the essential digital skills required for the 21st century. Your role will involve delivering engaging lessons that align with the national curriculum for ICT, fostering creativity, problem-solving, and digital literacy among the students. This is a permanent position that offers ample room for professional growth and development within their supportive school community.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver dynamic ICT lessons that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
  • Integrate innovative teaching methods and technologies to enhance the learning experience.
  • Cover all aspects of the national curriculum for ICT, including topics such as programming, data handling, and digital citizenship.
  • Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support their learning journey.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that promote digital fluency across the curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore, create, and excel in the field of ICT.
 
The National Curriculum for ICT aims to provide students with a broad and balanced understanding of technology and its applications. Key areas of focus include:
 
  • Understanding computer systems and networks
  • Developing computational thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Programming and coding fundamentals
  • Data representation and analysis
  • E-safety and digital citizenship
 
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently enrolled in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) leading to QTS.
  • A passion for ICT and a commitment to inspiring young learners.
  • Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for ICT and its implementation in the classroom.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  • A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to work as part of a dynamic team dedicated to educational excellence.
