***Supporting a deaf girl in their day-to-day life with 1:1 sessions
For this role we are looking for someone with a BSL related degree or Level 2 or 3 in BSL and the patience and passion to support a deaf girl through her day-to-day school life. You must be willing to adapt as your day may change and different issues may occur.
In this Graduate BSL Teaching Assistant role you will be supporting a young deaf girl in classroom support and 1:1 support sessions. You will be working with them on BSL, literacy and numeracy along with the rest of the curriculum. You will have the support of the class teacher for lesson plans and resources along with any other additional support you may need. This role is key to the child’s growth and development as you will be helping the child gain confidence in his academic and personal life. In this role you will be the child’s role model ensuring that she knows she can come to you with anything.
This North Birmingham school has brilliant staff that will support you through your time at this role, making sure you have all the essentials to produce the best sessions possible. The school is easily accessible by public transport and has a secure car park for staff.
