This specialist SEMH school in Dudley is looking for an English Teacher to teach students who have struggled to engage with mainstream education and need additional support to succeed.

This role requires a qualified teacher with QTS who can plan and deliver engaging English lessons while maintaining strong classroom management. Experience supporting students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs or challenging behaviour would be advantageous. This opportunity would suit a teacher who can adapt their approach, build positive relationships and motivate students who may have faced barriers to learning.

You will benefit from small class sizes, excellent resources and support from an experienced leadership team. The focus is on helping students rebuild their confidence, develop their English skills and make positive progress with their education. If you are looking for an English teaching role where you can spend more time supporting individual students and see the impact of your work, this could be the opportunity for you.

Job Role:
  • Teaching English to small classes of secondary-aged students with SEMH needs.

  • Adapting teaching strategies to engage students who have struggled in mainstream education.
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and senior leaders to support student progress.
  • Creating a calm, safe and structured learning environment.
  • Monitoring progress and helping students achieve positive academic outcomes.
In return, you will enjoy:
  • Small class sizes, allowing you to provide more individualised support.
  • Excellent teaching resources to support your planning and delivery.
  • Strong support from an experienced leadership team.
  • A rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference to students’ lives.
  • Access to training and CPD to develop your SEMH and alternative provision experience.
  • Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications.
  • A long-term opportunity to help students build confidence and achieve their potential.
