Learning Support Assistant – Alternative Provision

This vibrant and supportive Alternative Provision in South Birmingham is looking to add an experienced Learning Support Assistant to the team to provide vital 1-2-1 support for students who have struggled to engage in mainstream settings.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with the teachers and SENCO to ensure that students receive the support that they deserve. This role requires a Learning Support Assistant with strong  behaviour managements, and lots of empathy and resilience. 

Job Role:

• Providing 1-2-1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
• Supporting pupils to remain engaged and focused during lessons
• Helping students develop positive behaviour and emotional regulation
• Working closely with teachers to support learning and behaviour management
• Building positive relationships to encourage trust and engagement
• Supporting students who may face barriers to learning
• Monitoring and reporting on student progress and behaviour
• Contributing to a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
