Job Description
Primary Teacher – KS2/3 SEMH – Birmingham
The Education Network is looking for a Primary-trained Teacher to join a specialist SEND setting in Birmingham, teaching a small KS2/3 class of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This role would suit a Primary Teacher who enjoys working in a smaller, more personalised setting and is confident adapting their teaching to meet a range of additional needs. Previous experience working with SEMH pupils is essential, as the successful teacher will need to combine strong teaching with excellent classroom and behaviour management.

You will take responsibility for planning and delivering lessons across the curriculum, creating a structured and engaging learning environment where pupils can develop academically, socially and emotionally. This role requires previous experience working with children with SEMH needs, and a trauma informed approach.

Job Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the curriculum
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual SEND and SEMH needs
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Establish clear routines, boundaries and expectations
  • Manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Support pupils' confidence, engagement and independence
  • Monitor progress and adapt learning accordingly
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider SEND staff
  • Contribute to a safe, structured and positive classroom environment
In return, you will enjoy:
  • A rewarding Primary Teacher role within a specialist SEND setting
  • Small classes allowing for a genuinely personalised approach
  • The opportunity to use your Primary teaching skills in a different environment
  • The chance to develop your SEND and SEMH experience
  • Support from experienced education and SEND professionals
  • A role where strong relationships can make a genuine difference
  • Ongoing support from The Education Network
