SENCO required for an ASAP start at an outstanding secondary school in Birmingham. Are you a qualified SENCO looking for a new challenge? As a SENCO, you will lead and develop the school's SEND provision, ensuring students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive the appropriate support to thrive academically, socially and personally. The SENCO will work closely with teachers, support staff, parents, external agencies and the wider leadership team to ensure high-quality SEND provision across the school.
This SENCO role would suit an experienced SENCO who is confident leading SEND provision within a secondary school environment. The successful SENCO must hold the relevant SENCO qualification and have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and effective SEND strategies.
As part of the extended SLT, the SENCO will play an important role in whole-school development and will have the opportunity to contribute strategically to the continued improvement of SEND provision.
Job Role:- Working as the SENCO within an outstanding secondary school.
- Leading and managing the school's SEND provision.
- Ensuring students with SEND receive appropriate support and provision.
- Overseeing EHCPs, reviews and statutory SEND processes.
- Working closely with teachers and support staff to ensure effective classroom support.
- Monitoring the progress and outcomes of students with SEND.
- Providing advice and guidance to staff around SEND strategies and provision.
- Liaising with parents, carers and external agencies.
- Supporting the identification and assessment of students with additional needs.
- Contributing to whole-school improvement as a member of the extended SLT.
- Ensuring the school meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to SEND.
- Promoting high expectations and positive outcomes for students with SEND.
