As a Head of Year, you will take responsibility for the pastoral support, behaviour and welfare of a year group, working closely with students, teachers, parents and the wider pastoral team. The successful Head of Year will be confident managing behaviour, monitoring attendance and providing students with the guidance and support they need to succeed.
Previous experience as a Head of Year or Pastoral Lead is essential for this Head of Year role. The school is looking for a Head of Year who is organised, resilient and confident working with students, while maintaining high expectations and building positive relationships.
Job Role:- Working as a Head of Year with responsibility for the pastoral support of a year group.
- Providing day-to-day pastoral support and guidance to students.
- Monitoring attendance, punctuality, behaviour and student progress.
- Managing and responding to behavioural concerns.
- Building strong and positive relationships with students.
- Working closely with teaching staff to support students' academic and personal development.
- Liaising with parents and carers regarding attendance, behaviour and pastoral matters.
- Supporting students who may be experiencing social, emotional or academic barriers.
- Maintaining accurate pastoral records and following school procedures.
- Working closely with the wider pastoral and safeguarding team.
- Supporting the school in maintaining high expectations of behaviour and conduct.
- Helping students to develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards education.
