SEN Teacher – Special School
Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity within a specialist setting? Do you want to work alongside an outstanding Headteacher, excellent facilities and a genuinely supportive team? This welcoming special school in Atherstone is looking to appoint a SEN Teacher to join its team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a QTS teacher with either primary or secondary teaching experience. You will teach either a Key Stage 2 or Key Stage 3 class, working with pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and adapting the curriculum to ensure learning is accessible, engaging and meaningful.

The school has an outstanding Headteacher who provides strong leadership and has created a positive culture where staff are well supported. With excellent facilities, specialist resources and a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, you will have everything you need to help your pupils make progress and develop their confidence and independence.

The Role
  • Teach either a KS2 or KS3 class of pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties
  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
  • Adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs and abilities
  • Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
  • Create a structured, positive and engaging classroom environment
  • Work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to individual learning plans and EHCP outcomes
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Primary or secondary teaching experience
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEN
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • The ability to adapt teaching to meet a range of learning needs
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A patient, creative and positive approach
  • Previous special school or SEN experience would be advantageous but is not essential
