Are you a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role within a specialist setting? As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide both 1-2-1 and small group support for primary-aged pupils with additional learning needs. You will work closely with class teachers and specialist staff to help pupils access learning, develop communication skills, build confidence and make progress both academically and socially. The school benefits from excellent facilities, specialist learning spaces and a highly supportive leadership team who are committed to staff development and wellbeing. You will be joining a team of Teaching Assistants who are committed to making a difference!

Job Role:
  • Supporting primary-aged pupils with special educational needs in the classroom
  • Providing 1-2-1 and small group intervention support
  • Assisting pupils with communication, social and emotional development
  • Supporting the delivery of engaging and personalised learning activities
  • Working closely with Teachers, Teaching Assistants and specialist staff
  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive engagement
  • Supporting pupils with personal care where required
  • Helping to create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment

The Successful SEN Teaching Assistant Will Have:
  • Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs
  • A patient, caring and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
