Complex Needs Teacher – Secondary SEND School
Are you a qualified Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity working with secondary-aged students with complex learning needs? Do you want to teach small classes where personalised learning, communication support and a nurturing environment help students reach their full potential? This specialist SEND school is looking to appoint a dedicated Complex Needs Teacher to support students across Key Stage 3 and 4 in a well-supported and highly collaborative setting.

As a Complex Needs Teacher at this school, you will be responsible for delivering a highly personalised curriculum designed to meet the individual needs of students with complex learning difficulties, including Autism and associated communication needs. You will work closely with a skilled team of Teaching Assistants and therapists to create a structured, engaging and supportive classroom where students can develop communication, independence and life skills. Teachers from both primary and secondary backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Qualified Teacher Status is essential. Previous experience supporting students with complex needs is desirable but not essential.

Job Role:
  • Teaching small classes of secondary-aged students with complex learning needs
  • Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons tailored to individual abilities
  • Creating a calm, structured and nurturing classroom environment
  • Working closely with Teaching Assistants and specialist staff to support learning and care needs
  • Supporting the development of communication, independence and life skills
  • Using a range of strategies and resources to engage students with varying needs
  • Assessing, monitoring and recording student progress
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and individual learning plans
