Teaching Assistant – Special School – BirminghamThis excellent specialist school in Birmingham is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with special educational needs in a structured, nurturing and well-supported environment.
The successful Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers to provide high-quality classroom and individual support, helping pupils to access learning, develop independence and build confidence. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Classroom Support qualification is essential for this role.
The Role:- Supporting pupils with special educational needs within the classroom
- Providing 1-2-1 and small group support
- Assisting with the delivery of differentiated learning activities
- Supporting pupils’ communication, social and emotional development
- Helping to manage behaviour using consistent and positive strategies
- Working collaboratively with teachers and wider support staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant or Classroom Support qualification (essential)
- Previous experience working in a SEND or specialist setting
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A patient, nurturing and resilient approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
