SEND Teaching Assistant – South Birmingham (Key Stage 4)
Are you a caring and committed SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting Key Stage 4 students with additional needs? A warm and supportive special school in south Birmingham is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to work with Key Stage 4 students who have Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and Autism.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping young people build confidence, gain independence, and prepare for adulthood in a nurturing and structured environment. This role is ideal for a Teaching Assistant looking for a long-term rewarding role in a welcoming SEND school. 

Key Responsibilities:
• Support Key Stage 4 students with MLD and Autism in both classroom and small-group settings.
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, emotional well-being, and resilience.
• Promote communication, life skills, problem-solving and independence.
• Adapt resources and activities to support individual learning plans.
• Provide 1:1 support where required.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them thrive.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other support staff.

Requirements:
• Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or similar role.
• Knowledge or experience of supporting children with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
• A patient, calm and consistent approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.
• Relevant TA qualifications are desirable but not essential.
