Teaching Assistant – Special Educational Needs – Key Stage Two
Are you a Teaching Assistant who enjoys working with children who have a primary diagnosis of Autism? Do you have a passion for helping children to get the most out of each day, and discover a love for school? This lovely Special Educational Needs school is looking to add an experienced Teaching Assistant to the team to provide 1-2-1 support and deliver breakout sessions for children with a range of additional needs. The school have a wonderful team of Teaching Assistants and Teachers who understand the needs of the children that they support.

As a Teaching Assistant at this school you will feel like part of the team from day one. Teaching and Leadership staff are highly supportive, and understand the academic, social and behavioural barriers that children face. Experience supporting children withy Autism is essential, and knowledge if  ADHD, MLD and Asperger’s is desirable. As a Teaching Assistant you will work closely with the SENCO to ensure that the needs of the children are met effectively, and that appropriate progress is made. You will be joining an established team of Teaching Assistants who go above and beyond to make this school a safe and nurturing place for pupils. This school has fantastic facilities and you will have access to extensive resources. The role requires a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) and a can do attitude!
Job Role:

  • Supporting on a 1-2-1 basis within small classes of KS2 children with additional needs
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs, primarily Autism
  • Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
  • Providing a nurturing and caring environment for pupils
  • Delivering focused intervention sessions for children who require additional support
