Teaching Assistant, required to support a male Key Stage 3 child with SEMH needs on a 1-2-1 basis. The Education Network is working closely with a Birmingham Alternative provision to find a Teaching Assistant who has previously worked with SMEH needs and challenging behaviours. This vibrant Alternative Provision is looking for a calm, patient and empathetic individual, who is passionate about helping children overcome social and academic barriers. With a supportive pastoral team this is an excellent school for a Teaching Assistant who is committed to making a difference.
You will be joining an established team of teaching and support staff, who are truly experts within the SEMH sector. There is a clear structure for each day, and the leadership do everything possible to give students a second chance. Working in a 1-2-1 basis you will be responsible for managing behaviours and encouraging participation in lessons.
- Supporting a reluctant learner with SEMH needs
- Effectively managing classroom behaviours
- Providing additional support for the teacher
- Delivering intervention session on a 1-2-1 basis
- Making school a safe, nurturing and supportive place
- Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs or SEMH needs
- A positive attitude and passion for making a difference
- Good classroom management and an abundance of patience
