Teaching Assistant required to support students with SEMH needs on a small group basis at a Solihull school. We are looking for a wonderful Teaching Assistant to join an outstanding team of Teaching and support staff at a renowned Alternative Provision. This wonderful school are looking to add a Teaching Assistant to the team who is passionate about making a difference.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be supporting on a 1-2-1 and small group basis, managing behaviours and providing academic / behavioural support. Many of the children have been temporarily or permanently excluded from mainstream education, and this school are determined to give them a second chance at education. You will be joining a welcoming team of experienced Teaching Assistants, who love what they do. You are more than a Teaching Assistant at this school, you are a mentor, a role model and an inspiration for the children that you support. This role requires experience working with SEMH needs and a level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification is desirable.
- Supporting on a 1-2-1 basis within small classes of Key Stage 3 & 4 students
- Having a good understanding of challenging behaviours and SEMH needs
- Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
- Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for pupils
- Breaking down barriers to communication and managing behaviours
