Teaching Assistant required to support children who have recently relocated to the UK. Are you a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with EAL or special educational needs? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join the EMTAS and SEND team for Warwickshire CC. We are looking for a kind, caring and empathetic Teaching Assistant to work with children and families who have been displaced from their hopes and have relocated to the UK. Speaking a second language would be beneficial, but not essential for this role.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be working across multiple schools, so a valid driving licence and access to transport is essential. You will primarily be based at schools in one area, however may be asked to travel to other areas if required. You will be working on a 1-2-1 or small group basis and will be utilised in Key Stages 2-4 depending on experience. The team are keen to add a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about helping children access education, and is compassionate, caring and empathetic.
Job Role:

  • Supporting children and families whose primary language is not English
  • Helping children to integrate into school
  • Delivering 1-2-1 and small group intervention sessions for children
  • Supporting non-English speaking families alongside EAL Teachers
  • Making learning, fun, safe and engaging for children
  • Helping children to build positive relationships with other children and teachers
