Teaching Assistant required to for an outstanding Birmingham Special Educational Needs School. Are you a Teaching Assistant or Classroom Assistant looking for a new and engaging opportunity within a wonderful school? This warm and vibrant SEN School are looking to add a caring and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the team. A passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and experience as a Teaching Assistant is essential for this role. This school have a large team of 1-2-1 and whole class Teaching Assistants who work together to make every day a great day for the pupils.

As a Teaching Assistant you will be providing 1-2-1 support for children with a range of additional needs including; Autism, Complex Needs, ADHD, Asperger’s and MLD. The school is a nurturing environment for children and you will be joining a committed team of Teaching Assistants who love what they do! The SENCO is passionate about ensuring children’s needs are met, and supports the Teaching Assistants in meeting these needs. This role requires a Teaching Assistant who has previous experience working with special educational needs and who ideally  holds a level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
Job Role:

  • Supporting on a 1-2-1 basis within small classes of KS2 children with additional needs
  • Having a good understanding of a range of additional needs
  • Working as a Classroom Assistant / Teaching Assistant
  • Taking part in whole school activities and making school fun, engaging and beneficial for pupils
  • Braking down barriers to communication and managing behaviours
