Teaching Assistant required to support a male Key Stage 4 students with SEMH needs. Are you a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children or young people with challenging behaviours or SEMH needs? This busy Alternative Provision supports children with a range of SEMH needs and is looking to add a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-2-1 basis. You will be providing classroom bases support and delivering 1-2-1 positive intervention sessions for this student. Good behaviour management skills are essential for this role, alongside an abundance of empathy and patience.
As a Teaching Assistant you will be joining an experienced team of pastoral/support staff who are passionate about making a difference. Alongside your everyday responsibilities, you will be involved in whole school activities, and be a part of making a difference. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is looking for a long term opportunity where the can make a continued impact. Experience working with special educational needs or SEMH needs is essential, and a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification ( or equivalent) is desirable.
- Providing classroom support for the teacher, including managing behaviours
- Working on a 1-2-1 basis to ensure the child gets the most out of lessons
- Breaking down academic and social barriers
- Working with a team of teaching Assistants to make sure school is a fun and safe place
- Working with the SENCO to implement an action plan for the child
