1-2-1 Behaviour Mentor required to work with a Key Stage 4 Student who no longer attends mainstream education. This role requires an experienced behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant who has worked with challenging behaviours in either a school or residential setting. We are looking for someone who is eager to break down barriers to education and communication. You will be acting as a role model for a young person who has been excluded from mainstream school, and is at risk of involvement with gangs.
This role requires a patient, caring and proactive behaviour mentor, who understands the needs of this child. You will be working on a 1-2-1 basis, providing support within the classroom and around school. This role involves providing 1-2-1 mentoring sessions on a weekly basis.
- Providing 1-2-1 support within a classroom setting
- Managing challenging behaviours and deescalating situations
- Taking the young person out for activities and rewards
- Breaking down barriers to communication
- Trying to make learning fun and engaging for the young person that you support
