Behaviour Mentor required to work on a 1-2-1 basis with a male Key Stage 3 student who has recently been excluded from mainstream education. This role requires a Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant who has previously worked with challenging behaviours in either a school or residential setting, to provide tailored support for a student who finds it hard to engage with education.
As a Behaviour Mentor you will be providing both academic and pastoral support, similar to a Teaching Assistant. You will be responsible for managing any challenging classroom behaviours, inspiring an interest in education, and acting as a positive role model. This is an long-term opportunity to make a difference, working in a challenging and rewarding Alternative Provision setting.
- Supporting children with Challenging Behaviours on a 1-2-1 or small group basis
- Making learning fun and engaging for children
- Working with the class teacher to ensure that every child’s needs are met
- Supporting on school trips and in extracurricular activities
- Bringing a smile every day
- Have experience working with Challenging Behaviours or SEMH
- Be committed and dedicated to making a difference
- Have an abundance of patience and empathy
- Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Be able to work on a fulltime basis 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
