Job Description
Learning Support Assistant required to provide 1-2-1 support for Key Stage 3 & 4 students who have faced significant barriers to education. We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who has experience working with young people who have displayed challenging behaviours. This role involves acting as a 1-2-1 mentor for a student who has been excluded from mainstream education. As a Learning Support Assistant you will be responsible for providing social, academic and behavioural support, in order to help the student reengage with education.

This busy Alternative Provision setting supports students who have demonstrated challenging behaviours and who require additional mentoring and academic support. The staff are committed to making a difference, and are encouraged to think outside of the box.
Job role:
  • Supporting children with Challenging Behaviours on a 1-2-1 or small group basis
  • Making learning fun and engaging for children
  • Working with the class teacher to ensure that every child’s needs are met
  • Supporting on school trips and in extracurricular activities
  • Bringing a smile every day
You must:
  • Have experience working with Challenging Behaviours or SEMH
  • Be committed and dedicated to making a difference
  • Have an abundance of patience and empathy
  • Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Be able to work on a fulltime basis 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday
