Job Details

Behaviour Mentor required to provide 1-2-1 support to a Key Stage 4 Student who has been excluded from mainstream education. This school is looking to add a resilient Behaviour Mentor to the team who is able to quickly build rapport with students who have faced barriers to education. This role requires experience working with challenging behaviours, EBD or SEMH, ideally within a care or school setting. In this role you will be acting as a positive role model for the student that you are working with, providing academic and social support in the classroom and around the school.

The school offers excellent support for students who have been excluded from mainstream education and are passionate about providing a “second chance” for students. As a behaviour mentor you will be responsible for managing behaviours, mentoring, and taking part in “Golden Time” with students. This role is perfect for a resilient, dedicated and determined Behaviour Mentor who wants to make a difference.
 
Role:

  • Working on a 1-2-1 or small group basis
  • Help students to engage with lessons
  • Providing support to teaching staff when needed
  • Building rapport and trust with students
  • Leading on fun classroom activities
 
Ideally, you will:
  • Have experience working as a Behaviour Mentor or Teaching Assistant
  • Have worked with challenging behaviour and Special Needs
  • Be able to break down barriers to communication
  • Have a calm, patient and positive approach
  • Be able to challenge students when required
