The Education Network is looking for a Teaching Assistant to provide 1-2-1 support for a child who no longer attends mainstream education. This role involves providing 1-2-1 support for a Key Stage 3 student who has been excluded from mainstream education, and required additional social, academic and behavioural support. You will be working alongside a fantastic team of dedicated Teaching Assistants to provide students with a second chance, with the long-term goal of reintegrating them into mainstream education.
This Ofsted “Good” Alternative Provision has been recognised for its ability to get children to reengage with education and eventually make the step back into mainstream schooling. You will be joining an experienced team who are passionate about education and understand the challenges that many children face. Excellent communication skills, resilience and behaviour management are essential to being successful in this role.
- Working 1-2-1 with students
- Help students to engage with lessons
- Providing support to teaching staff when needed
- Building rapport and trust with students
- Leading on fun classroom activities
Ideally, you will:
- Have experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or Teaching Assistant
- Have worked with challenging behaviour and Special Needs
- Be able to break down barriers to communication
- Have a calm, patient and positive approach
- Be able to challenge students when required
