The Education Network is working in partnership with a specialist SEN school in Leeds to recruit a
SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team. This role is offered on a
temporary to permanent basis, providing an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to secure a long-term position within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
The Role As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, learning difficulties, communication needs and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. You will play a vital role in helping pupils to engage with their learning, develop confidence and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils in accessing lessons and adapting activities to meet individual learning needs.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing in and out of the classroom.
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Assist with personal care where required.
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of individualised learning programmes.
About You We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs.

- Able to work effectively as part of a team and use their initiative when required.
- Committed to supporting the holistic development of every child.
Essential:- Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in an educational or care setting).
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Desirable:- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience supporting pupils with autism, SEMH or complex needs.
