About the Role The Education Network is currently recruiting for a committed
SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in
Keighley.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential. You will be working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
- Assist in implementing individual learning plans and adapting classroom activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and outside agencies to ensure pupil progress.
- Create a nurturing, safe and engaging learning environment for all pupils.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEN, ideally within a school or care setting.
- A patient, understanding and resilient approach to working with children.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A valid DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
- Relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant, or SEN-specific training, are desirable but not essential.
