Behaviour Support Workers to work across a range of
primary, secondary, and specialist schools in
Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are confident, patient, and dedicated to helping young people achieve their full potential.
About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Worker, you will work closely with pupils who display challenging behaviours or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. You’ll provide targeted support to help them engage positively with learning and develop essential life skills.
Your role will involve:
- Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with behavioural and emotional needs
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
- Supporting teaching staff to create a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Building trusting and supportive relationships with pupils
- Encouraging resilience, confidence, and emotional regulation
- Working collaboratively with school staff, parents, and external agencies
About You: We are looking for individuals who are:
- Experienced in supporting young people with SEMH or behavioural needs (school or care experience desirable)
- Calm, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships quickly
- Confident in managing challenging situations in a professional manner
- Resilient, patient, and committed to making a positive impact
- Flexible and adaptable to different school environments
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Psychology, Youth Work, or similar) are beneficial but not essential — experience and attitude are key!
