About the Role: The Education Network is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist provision in Bradford. This outstanding and inclusive school supports children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As a SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of your pupils. You’ll work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to provide a nurturing and supportive learning environment where every student can succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver creative, tailored lessons aligned with pupils’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Differentiate teaching methods to accommodate a range of abilities, communication styles, and sensory needs.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom culture that promotes confidence and independence.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, using restorative and proactive strategies.
  • Work closely with support staff and external professionals to ensure holistic support for each learner.
  • Track and assess pupil progress, providing detailed feedback to parents, carers, and colleagues.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives that enhance learning, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / QTLS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND in a specialist or mainstream setting.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, differentiation, and communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or TEACCH.
  • Excellent behaviour management and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting learners.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
