Autism Teaching Assistant 
Location: Leeds LS10
Position Type: Full-Time / Temporary to Permanent 
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: £90 - £95per day (depending on experience)

Are you a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with autism? Do you have the patience, empathy, and dedication to support pupils in achieving their full potential?
We are currently seeking a compassionate and committed Autism Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive SEN school in the LS10 area of Leeds. This role is ideal for someone with experience working with children with autism or other special educational needs (SEN), either in a school setting or through personal experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to pupils with Autism and other SEN needs
  • Supporting pupils of EHCPs 
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning materials
  • Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment
  • Use strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory-based approaches (training can be provided)
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children with Autism or SEN (school-based or personal)
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • A DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
