The Education Network are seeking a highly organised and proactive Attendance Officer to join a pastoral and safeguarding team at a Secondary school in Bradford. This role is vital in promoting excellent attendance, supporting student welfare, and ensuring compliance with statutory attendance regulations.

The role of an Attendance officer requires you to work closely with students, families, and staff to identify barriers to attendance and implement strategies to improve engagement and punctuality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and manage daily student attendance records
  • Identify patterns of absence and intervene early
  • Liaise with parents/carers to address attendance concerns
  • Produce and analyse attendance data for school leaders
  • Support the safeguarding and pastoral teams with student welfare
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow up on absenteeism
  • Assist in developing and implementing attendance policies
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in school administration or attendance-related roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SIMS (or similar MIS)
  • Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • Understanding of safeguarding and education regulations
  • A proactive and empathetic approach to student support
