Exciting Opportunity for a Part-Time Supply Food Technology Teacher in Durham!

Are you a passionate and creative Food Technology Teacher looking for a flexible part-time role? We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity at a welcoming secondary school in Durham. This role is set to begin the week commencing 16th March and will continue through to the summer, providing a fantastic opportunity to inspire students through practical and engaging lessons.

The Role:
As a Part-Time Supply Food Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons to secondary school students on Thursdays and Fridays each week. This role focuses on developing students' confidence in cooking, nutrition, and food preparation, helping them build valuable life skills in a supportive learning environment. There may also be opportunities for additional cover on other days.

Your responsibilities will include:
" Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
" Teaching practical cooking skills, nutrition, and food safety
" Encouraging creativity and confidence in the kitchen
" Assessing students' progress and providing constructive feedback
" Maintaining a safe and organised classroom environment, following health and safety procedures
" Working collaboratively with the Design & Technology department and wider school staff

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should ideally have:
" Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary school level
" Strong subject knowledge, including nutrition and food hygiene
" A passion for practical learning and student development
" Strong classroom management and communication skills
" The ability to adapt lessons to suit a range of abilities
" Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
