Exciting Opportunity for a Long-Term Supply Food Technology Teacher in Billingham

Are you a passionate and creative Food Technology Teacher looking for a rewarding long-term role? We are delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees. This position begins on 19th April and offers the chance to inspire students through practical learning and real-world skills in a supportive school environment.

The Role:
As a Supply Food Technology Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering engaging and practical lessons to students across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will help students develop essential life skills, creativity, and an understanding of nutrition, health, and food preparation.

Your responsibilities will include:
" Planning and delivering engaging Food Technology lessons in line with the national curriculum
" Teaching practical cooking skills, food safety, and nutrition theory
" Encouraging creativity and independence in the kitchen
" Assessing students' practical and written work, providing constructive feedback
" Maintaining a safe and well-organised learning environment in accordance with health and safety regulations
" Working collaboratively with the Design & Technology department and wider school staff

Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
" Proven experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level
" Strong subject knowledge, including nutrition and food safety
" A passion for practical learning and developing students' confidence and independence
" Excellent classroom management skills
" The ability to differentiate lessons to meet a range of abilities
" Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
