Learning Mentor

Are you a Learning Mentor who has experience working with children and young adults who have faced barriers to learning? Do you believe that you can inspire and motivate students? Are you comfortable working with challenging behaviour? As Learning Mentor you will be supporting a Key Stage 4 student who is no longer in mainstream education. You will be responsible for academic, social and behavioural support for this student who has faced barriers to learning.

The school are looking for an empathetic and patient Learning Mentor who is able to build rapport quickly with students.  You will be joining a team of energetic staff who are determined to make a difference! This is an excellent opportunity to work within an alternative provision setting and be part of something special!

 

Ideally you will be:


-          A Learning Mentor with SEND/EBD experience

-          A confident classroom practitioner able to support lessons in a creative and inspiring manner

-          Used to finding creative solutions to overcome barriers to learning

-          Encouraging participation in lessons

-          Happy to work on a 1-2-1 or small group basis

-          Able to provide support to teaching staff across core subjects

-          A friendly, professional  and dedicated Teaching Assistant

-          Able to provide recent, relevant education references
