Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour? Are you a Leaning Mentor or Teaching Assistant who is looking for a new challenge? The Education Network is working in partnership with a local PRU that is recruiting for a Learning Mentor to work on a 1-2-1 basis with a KS4 student that has been excluded from mainstream education.
The role involves providing classroom support and acting as positive role model. You will be responsible for managing behaviour and taking the student out of the classroom when required. The school believe that every child deserves a second chance, and are fully invested in giving each child an opportunity to succeed. Good behaviour management skills are essential.
You will be;-
- A dedicated Learning Mentor used to working on a 1-2-1 basis
- Happy to work with some challenging behaviour
- Used to working supporting lessons and encouraging in other areas
- Competent in terms of de-escalation
- Able to take control and restore order with this young adult in a calm way
- Be a great role model and offer some consistency
