English Tutor required for Manchester
We are currently deploying tutors in a number of different ways to work with children in their homes to support their learning. We are also working closely with Virtual schools supporting children currently out of school. Each role is different as every child requires alternative support and it is important to bear this in mind when considering individual vacancies.
Generally, the main purpose of our tutors is to enable students who are underachieving to reach their target attainment levels by providing coaching and activities outside of the main activities they would take part in , in a school environment..

Leading 1:1 sessions for students in a core subject area - English
Planning and preparing all sessions
Marking and assessing work
Monitoring and reviewing the progress of students
Attending PEP reviews as well as EHCP meetings where relevant
Supporting revision sessions
In some cases - organising taking of exams, location of sitting and invigilators
Be able to share your interests with the student and encourage other types of learning.
Have an understanding of a variety of health issues, SEMH and SEBD and the challenging behaviours that accompany these need.
