Year 4 SEND Teaching Assistant - Ashington

With the fantastic reputation and relationships we have built over the years with our partnership schools in the North East, the Education Network are currently seeking to recruit a Key Stage Two SEND teaching assistant who will work with one of our wonderful partnership schools in Ashington.
The role would involve providing additional support to pupils with ASD on a 1:1 basis helping with their concentration, focus and raising their attainment in the general curriculum. You may occasionally be asked to support with small groups too although the majority of your work will be on a 1:1 basis. The school are looking for someone who is warm, approachable and can work under their own initiative to help create a welcoming environment for young minds to flourish.
To be considered for this role we request that the following criteria be met in full:
- Qualified to at least a Level 2 in a relevant education support and leaning.
- Experience with SEND and working with children with ASD.
- Have zero criminal convictions and if not in possession already be willing to apply for a DBS (Disclosure and Barring service) Certificate.
- Have recent experience of working in a classroom environment in the past 2-3 years (voluntary is acceptable).
- Have enthusiasm for learning and supporting teachers and pupils in school.
- Be able to provide references to cover you for your last 2 years of employment (at least one being relevant to childcare/education).
